Asobi Seksu 'Hush' (2009)

I'm a little late on posting this, and actually haven't even listened to the whole record yet. But I dug Citrus, and with the release of their first "Hush-era" video "Me & Mary"(which can be viewed below), I thought - what the heck. Asobi Sesku play popped out shoegaze ala pre-Loveless My Bloody Valentine. Other interesting notes on Asobi Sesku, their name is colloquial Japanese for "casual sex", which is awesome. And singer/keyboardists, Yuki Chikudate, received standing ovations at child prodigy recitals when she was just 8, which is nerdy. This record is a little less fuzz than previous releases which is both a good and bad thing. You'll like them, maybe love them. Record comes out on Polyvinyl next month.
