Franz Ferdinand "Tonight" (2009)

I'll admit I just downloaded this and have only had a chance to preview these tracks, but it's really what you expect out of FF. And I mean that in the highest respect. I am a fan. It's catchy disco punk that will pop out a radio hit and get some great remixes. And it's deserved because their new ordered remix/cover of LCD's 'All My Friends' jumped onto a ton of my mix cds in 2007, and deserves to be revisited with this release. If you like FF then def cop this. I can see this turning boring car rides into disco feak-outs. Album out on Domino on the 26th.

Title Fight Are Top Ranking

Lately it seems like I can't escape Title Fight. Not that I haven't always loved them, but geez - you don't realize when they stop being your best friends little brother's band. Message boards, blogs, and mouths won't shut up about them. Videos of their live shows look like clothed punk rock orgies with kids crawling all over each other to get near the mic for sing-a-longs, and their most recent release 'Kingston' ended up on plenty of punk rock year-end lists. Adding to their credentials, AbsolutePunk.Net recently placed them along side acts like Cursive, Saves the Day, Muse, and Morrisey as part of their Most Anticipated Albums of 2009 preview. While I think most of that list can suck shit, I recognize AP is a well-respected media mogul in it's own genre, so many props to the lads. Things I need to do this weekend - grab some pizza, the Kingston ep, and feel young.
